The LANCMAN STX 26 MULTISPEED vertical wood splitter is the most powerful model in the STX series, designed for the most demanding users who require maximum power and high productivity in firewood preparation. With a splitting force of 26 tons, it easily splits even the largest logs up to Ø 95 cm in diameter and 117 cm in length.
It is equipped with the MULTISPEED system, which enables automatic speed regulation depending on the load:
at lower load the splitter works faster
at higher load it switches to slower operation with more power
Available drive versions:
C GP – PTO drive with cast iron pump (larger oil volume for faster operation)
EL – electric motor
C+EL – combined drive (PTO + electric)
Optionally, the XTREMSPEED system is also available (for EL version), which increases splitting speed by up to 50%.
The STX 26 MULTISPEED has a strong construction, an advanced hydraulic system and a HARDOX wedge, which ensures longer service life and better splitting.

The tonnage rating indicates the maximum force that the hydraulic cylinder can generate during splitting. The wedge (axe) presses directly onto the log and splits it. For the splitter to reach its full force, the wedge must be braced against a solid, fixed stop, which allows the hydraulic pressure to be converted into actual splitting force.
Technically, the force of a splitter is measured in kiloNewtons (kN). Example:
1 kN = approximately 0.102 tons of force
200 kN ≈ 20 tons of force
This means that a 20-ton rating corresponds to about 200 kN of pressure exerted by the wedge on the log. The actual force applied, however, is proportional to the resistance of the wood – softer logs require less pressure, while harder or knotty logs require more.
